Clyde to hire new finance director
CLYDE — Clyde City Council will meet at 7 p.m. today, and on the agenda is a resolution to appoint a new city finance director. The previous finance director, Craig Davis, resigned in April.
There also is a resolution to authorize the city manager to hire an engineering group, Blanchard Design Associates of Findlay, for a North Church Street improvement project.
A resolution to make city services available to at 14.8-acre property owned by John W. and Carolyn R. Rhodes, once it is annexed into the city, also is on the agenda.
Garden plots now available to community residents
FREMONT – Sandusky County residents may sign up for the community garden project.
The garden, being coordinated by the Ohio State University Sandusky County Extension office and the Sandusky/Ottawa Master Gardeners in cooperation with the county commissioners and the City of Fremont, consists of plots and raised beds on county land at the corner of Countryside Drive and Fifth Street, just south of the US Route 6 exit off of the US Route 20 bypass.
To sign up for a plot, submit a $20 deposit that is refundable at season’s end if all guidelines have been followed. Master Gardener project coordinators will contact participants to assign a plot and cover the guidelines and rules for the garden. Participants can plant whatever they wish, but must provide their own plants, garden tools and maintenance to the garden plots.
The city has provided a water access so participants can water their plots. Master Gardeners would be glad to assist anyone with ideas on what to grow and how to grow it.
The sign-up sheet is located at the Sandusky County Extension Office, 2000 Countryside Drive, or call 419-334-6340. There is no deadline to sign up.
