Letters to the editor: Egremont Finance Committee has taken no position on school merger

To the editor:

Terry Cowgill’s excellent pieces on the school district merger discussions (here and here) have twice intimated that the Egremont Finance Committee—or at least “members” of it—are opposed to a merger of the two school districts.

At several Finance Committee meetings, Tom Berkel has reported on the status of the merger discussions and his concerns. No votes have been taken and I am not aware that any member of the Finance Committee, other than Tom, has indicated any position on the matter, for or against. That includes me.
