MARKET LIVE: Sensex down 500 pts, Nifty50 below 15,450; Metal stocks bleed
In early trade, the BSE Sensex cracked 750 points to 51,780-odd levels, while the NSE Nifty shed 240 points to 15,400.
In line with the benchmarks, the broader markets also held steep losses with the BSE MidCap and SmallCap indices, falling up to 1.5 per cent.

All sectors held sharp losses, barring PSBSs. Nifty metals slipped over 4 per cent, followed by oil & gas that shed 2 per cent. Auto, financials and IT were also in red.
